The Illuminated Fountain

Frances Maguire was a catholic poet, playwright, actor and teacher from Medford Massachusetts, who died in New York in 1976. Klaus Roy served with Maguire while on assignment in Japan during the US Army’s post-WW2 occupation. Beginning in the 1950s, Mr. Roy set a total of nine of Maguire’s poems to music: in separate songs, two song cycles and a choral piece.
